HOKIE HOPE DAY
Friday, April 20, has been declared Hokie Hope Day. Alumni across the country are urging everyone -- Hokie or not -- to wear orange and maroon in honor of those whose lives were lost on April 16 and in support of the victims' families and the university community. Additionally, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine has declared April 20 a statewide day of mourning.

HOKIE SPIRIT MEMORIAL FUND
To remember and honor the victims of the tragic events of April 16, 2007, the university has established the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund to aid in the healing process and generate financial support. The funds will be used to cover expenses including (but not limited to) grief counseling, memorials, communication expenses, comfort expenses, and incidental needs. Learn more about the fund at www.vt.edu/tragedy/memorial_fund.php.

CONVOCATION MULTIMEDIA
On April 17, the university held a Convocation to memorialize the victims of the April 16 attacks and to begin the painful process of trying to heal from the events of that day. Among the speakers were President George W. Bush, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, Virginia Tech President Charles W. Steger, and renowned professor and poet Nikki Giovanni. To watch the Convocation online, go to www.hokiesports.com/convocation.html. Podcasts of the individual speeches are available at www.vt.edu/tragedy (see right-hand column). A transcript of Giovanni's stirring Convocation address can be read online at www.vt.edu/tragedy/giovanni_transcript.php.

SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS
To honor and remember the victims of April 16, the university has created a website at http://rosa.hosting.vt.edu/index.php/memorial/ to allow those within the university community and around the world to share their condolences, thoughts, and prayers. NOTE: Due to extremely high volume on the memorial website, you may experience slow performance. We ask for your patience.

VIGIL VIDEO
Award-winning Virginia Tech student and filmmaker Tim Leaton produced a video short of Tuesday's candlelight vigil, which was held on the Drillfield at 8 p.m. in honor of the victims. View the video at http://timleaton.com/candlelightvigil.htm.
