UPDATING THE ALUMNI DIRECTORY Mailing addresses, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and employment information will be updated for the next official alumni directory. The Virginia Tech Alumni Association is partnering with Publishing Concepts Inc. (PCI) to publish an alumni directory and CD to document these changes and provide alumni an opportunity to stay better connected. When PCI contacts you via phone and mail surveys, please be sure to update your information and ensure its accuracy. The Virginia Tech 2010 Alumni Directory will be available for purchase and delivery in the fall of 2010. More details will be available when PCI contacts you individually. The publisher will also offer valuable incentives for certain category purchases.
GRADMED SHORT-TERM HEALTH INSURANCE If you find yourself in need of temporary health insurance coverage, the Alumni Association may have a solution. The association sponsors GradMed Short-term Health Insurance, which can help you fill your coverage gap and protect you from large expenses due to an accident or unexpected illness. Coverage can start the day after receipt of your application. To get more information, receive a rate quote, or apply for coverage, visit the website at www.gradmed.com or call 1-800/922-1245.
ART EXHIBITS The Holtzman Alumni Center showcases alumni artists throughout the year in its second-floor gallery. You can stop by anytime Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to view the exhibits. The current photography exhibit on display is the Lost Communities of Virginia project, which runs from May 11 through August 2009. Have you driven through Virginia and seen the remnants of small communities, the signs announcing arrival in a place where there are no visible signs of life, or an old general store that once teemed with activity but is now closed or perhaps even used as a hay barn? The Lost Communities of Virginia project began with a curiosity about such places.
